Welcome to Year 2
Welcome to the second half of the Summer Term. Here is some useful information of what we will be doing this term.
The Year 2 team is:

- Mrs Parveen - Teaching Assistant
This half term, our topic is ‘Animal Magic’. We will be reading lots of stories about animals and their adventures.
We shall be having a trip to Whipsnade Zoo on the 11th which links to our Science learning, where we are learning about natural habitats.
The children will have PE lessons on Wednesday and Fridays so please make sure PE kits are in school on those days.

This term the children will be expected to complete their Maths homework on Maths Shed. The children have been taught how to access it. This needs to be completed and 'submitted' on a daily basis.
The children will continue to get paper copies of their spellings. Please remember to read with your child everyday and sign their journal.
This term the children will be learning about measures, solving one and two-step word problems and using data.
Please learn and practise the 2x, 5x and 10x times tables, and if you want an extra challenge, the 3x, 4x and 6x times tables. The children will also need to know the related division facts.

This half term, our topic is ‘Animal Magic’. In English, we are looking at various animal stories. We shall be describing characters and creating our own versions.

This half term, our topic is ‘Animal Magic’. In Science we are looking at various habitats across the world and how different animals have adapted to live there.
This half term we will be comparing High Wycombe with Cape Town. We shall be using maps, looking at photos and describing features.
This half term we will be learning and exploring the life and work of Andy Warhol. The children will also be creating their own examples of his work.
